Basketball Recap: Lakeside Comes Up Short

Lakeside was the 57-56 winner over Perry when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Lakeside Dragons fell 73-66 to the Perry Pirates on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 764th, while the Pirates are ranked 221st).

Lakeside's defeat dropped their record down to 3-15. As for Perry, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 12-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lakeside will take on Geneva at 6:45 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Lakeside's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last three games. As for Perry, they will face off against West Geauga at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. West Geauga will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Perry surely won't give up without a fight.
