Basketball Preview: Elsberry Indians vs. Bowling Green Bobcats
The Elsberry Indians will be playing in front of their home fans against the Bowling Green Bobcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Given that the pair suffered a loss in their last game, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this match.
Elsberry fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against the Thunderbirds on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell to the Thunderbirds 54-49.
Meanwhile, Bowling Green's recent rough patch got a bit rougher last Wednesday after their seventh straight loss. The match between them and North Callaway wasn't particularly close, with Bowling Green falling 52-36. While losing is never fun, Bowling Green can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 380th, while the Thunderbirds are ranked 168th).
Elsberry's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-7. As for Bowling Green, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-14.
Elsberry strolled past the Bobcats in their previous matchup two weeks ago by a score of 47-31. Will Elsberry repeat their success, or do the Bobcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
