            Volleyball Recap: Granville Blue Aces vs. Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets        
        
		
        
        
            Granville had lost six straight headed into Thursday's   contest, but  Ady Sims didn't let it get to seven. The Blue Aces came out on top against the Mt. Vernon Yellowjackets by a score of  3-1  on Thursday with plenty of help from  Sims, who  had 28  digs and five  aces. With that strong performance,  she is now averaging an impressive 2.1  aces per game.
 Granville had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. The final score came out to 18-25, 25-21, 25-12,  25-17.

 Granville's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was   Emma Gulledge, who  had 14 assists and four  digs. Gulledge is  on a roll when it comes to  assists, as she's  now  posted 14 or more in each of the last three games she's  played.  Mylee King also deserves some recognition as  she  had her first  block of the season.
 Mt. Vernon lost  despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was   Callie Swanson, who  had ten  digs and four  aces.  Addison Komitau was another key player,  getting 15  assists and four  digs.
Granville's win bumped their record up to 7-10. As for Mt. Vernon, they have  been struggling recently as they've  lost eight of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-11 record  this season.
 Both  squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming  matches. Granville will challenge Heath at 7:00  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Mt. Vernon, they will square off against Bexley at 7:30  p.m.  on Monday.
