Softball Recap: Illinois Valley's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Five

Illinois Valley came tearing into Friday's matchup with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 15.8 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Everything went their way against the Chiloquin Panthers/Queens as they made off with a 16-1 win. That's two games straight that the Cougars have won by exactly 15 runs.

Illinois Valley's victory was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 4.0 runs on average over those games. As for Chiloquin, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-4.

Looking ahead, Illinois Valley will welcome Oakland at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. The Cougars' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Oakers have averaged an impressive 9.7 runs per game this season. As for Chiloquin, they will head out on the road to challenge Lost River at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
