Baseball Game Preview: Chandler Wolves vs. Casteel Colts

The Chandler Wolves will square off against the Casteel Colts at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Saturday, Chandler came up short against Mullen and fell 13-9. The Wolves have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Jace Harrell made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Another player making a difference was Zayden Peltz, who scored a run while going 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Casteel waltzed into their game on Thursday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Jackrabbits 12-1. Considering the Colts have won five contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

PJ Brush looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Keegan Goddard and Logan Reber did most of the damage at the plate: Goddard scored three runs while getting on base in both of his plate appearances, while Reber went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles and two RBI. Goddard also brought in an RBI, marking his first of the season. Ryan Harwood was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Casteel kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least eight hits in three consecutive matchups.

Casteel's record now sits at 8-3. As for Chandler, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-6-1.

Chandler suffered a grim 15-1 defeat to Casteel in their previous meeting back in March of 2024. Can Chandler avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
