Baseball Game Preview: Turner Ashby Knights vs. Broadway Gobblers

The Turner Ashby Knights will venture away from home to challenge the Broadway Gobblers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Turner Ashby is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.

On Tuesday, Turner Ashby needed a bit of extra time to put away Spotswood. They skirted past the Trailblazers 2-1. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Knights.

Sammy Moats spent all eight innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Turner Ashby saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brady Spotts, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases. Cooper Smith was another, earning one RBI, one run, and one stolen base.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, Broadway was a bit more limited in their contest on Wednesday. They fell just short of Wilson Memorial by a score of 3-2. The Gobblers' loss signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.

Turner Ashby's record is now 11-3. As for Broadway, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-3.

Turner Ashby couldn't quite finish off Broadway in their previous matchup back in April and fell 9-7. Can the Knights avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
