Recap: South Hills Scorpions vs. Weatherford Christian Lions
The South Hills Scorpions's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their 17th straight loss. They were the victim of a rough 44-19 loss at the hands of Weatherford Christian. While losing is never fun, South Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1494th, while Weatherford Christian is ranked 473rd).
Ava Guerrero was South Hills' leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Guerrero also led the team in rebounds with ten.
Fernanda Garcia-Lua took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with two assists.
South Hills' defeat dropped their record down to 1-18. As for Weatherford Christian, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
South Hills will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Monahans at 1:00 p.m. on December 9th. Monahans is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Weatherford Christian, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Westlake Academy at 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
