Baseball Recap: Liberty Hurricanes vs. Parkland Trojans

Liberty won against Freedom last Tuesday with six runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Monday. The Liberty Hurricanes came out on top against the Parkland Trojans by a score of 6-2. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Liberty.

Liberty's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Jacob Rivera, who scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-4. Rivera has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive pitching appearances. Franklin Pichardo was another key contributor, going 2-for-3 with an RBI.

Liberty has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Parkland, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-6.

Liberty will head out on the road to face off against Pocono Mountain East at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pocono Mountain East is on a nine-game streak of home wins, Liberty a six-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the field. Parkland does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
