Basketball Game Preview: Euclid Panthers vs. Mentor Cardinals

Euclid is 1-9 against Mentor since January of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Euclid Panthers challenge the Mentor Cardinals at 6:00 p.m.

Last Wednesday, Euclid lost to Holy Name on the road by a 46-27 margin.

Meanwhile, Mentor entered their tilt with Twinsburg on Wednesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They managed a 50-46 win over the Tigers.

Mentor is also on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.0 points per game. As for Euclid, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Euclid might still be hurting after the 56-34 loss they got from Mentor in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Mentor's Nina Rodriguez, who went 10 for 20 on her way to 24 points and four steals.
