Baseball Recap: Taft Comes Up Short

Taft fell victim to O'Connor and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers. The Raiders haven't had much luck with the Panthers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

CHRIS ARRIAGA was huge while hitting and pitching even without the win. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with two doubles.

Taft's loss dropped their record down to 7-16. As for O'Connor, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight games. That's provided a massive bump to their 15-9 record this season.

While Taft had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:45 p.m. on Friday.
