Volleyball Recap: Weslaco Triumphs

Weslaco won the last time they faced San Benito and things went their way on Saturday too. The Panthers came out on top against the Greyhounds by a score of 2-0. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Panthers.

Caitlyn Escamilla paced Weslaco's offense, picking up five kills. Escamilla got some help from Madison Martinez and her ten assists. Escamilla was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

Weslaco now has a winning record of 9-8. As for San Benito, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 8-6.

Weslaco wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-1 loss against Skidmore-Tynan on the 23rd. As for San Benito, they will be playing in front of their home fans against La Joya at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
