Baseball Game Preview: Huntsville Eagles vs. Prairie Grove Tigers

The Huntsville Eagles will head out on the road to square off against the Prairie Grove Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Huntsville will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last.

Huntsville's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Green Forest with a sharp 15-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Eagles, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Prairie Grove). They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over Berryville on Tuesday. The Tigers not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 8, 2024.

The win made it two in a row for Prairie Grove and bumps their season record up to 8-11. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 1 runs in those games. As for Huntsville, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.

Huntsville couldn't quite finish off Prairie Grove when the teams last played back in April of 2024 and fell 11-9. Can the Eagles avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
