Baseball Recap: Westminster Christian's Win Ends Four-Game Losing Streak on the Road

It's playoff time, and Westminster Christian had no trouble coming through when it counted. They put the hurt on the Chaminade-Madonna Lions with a sharp 13-1 victory on Tuesday. Considering the Warriors' hitters had been struggling lately, the high-scoring outing was a much-needed turnaround.

Aaron Hernandez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up ten Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Westminster Christian got a massive performance out of Max Boyer, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with one home run and four RBI. Those four RBI gave Boyer a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of James Suarez, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one double.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Westminster Christian lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. They are a perfect 6-0 when they post two or more home runs.

Westminster Christian's win ended a four-game drought on the road and puts them at 16-11-1. As for Chaminade-Madonna, their loss ended a nine-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 24-4.

Westminster Christian will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Lions: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
