Preview: Sam Houston Texans vs. Arlington Colts
The Sam Houston Texans will head out on the road to take on the Arlington Colts at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The pair have had a bumpy ride up to this point with ten consecutive losses for Sam Houston and six for Arlington.
Last Friday, Sam Houston was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap as they fell 54-50 to Grand Prairie. While losing is never fun, Sam Houston can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 728th, while Grand Prairie is ranked 254th).
Despite the defeat, Sam Houston had strong showings from Terry Brock, who scored 23 points along with three steals, and Rylan Austin, who scored 12 points along with five steals.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Arlington, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 56-41 loss to Martin on Friday.
Sam Houston has traveled a rocky road recently having lost 19 of their last 20 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-26 record this season. As for Arlington, they dropped their record down to 7-23 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Sam Houston couldn't quite finish off Arlington in their previous matchup back in January and fell 47-44. Can Sam Houston avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
