Basketball Recap: Moore Comes Up Short

Moore lost against Piedmont back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Moore Lions fell 55-45 to the Piedmont Wildcats. While losing is never fun, the Lions can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Oklahoma basketball rankings (they are ranked 205th, while the Wildcats are ranked 86th).

Libby Jaques was Moore's leading scorer, having posted 11 points. Jaques also led the team in rebounds with six. Kyndal Kaulaity took the lead distributing the ball, coming up with four assists.

This is the second loss in a row for Moore and nudges their season record down to 6-10. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.0 points over those games. As for Piedmont, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-10 record this season.

Moore didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 56-40 loss against Edmond Santa Fe on the 7th. As for Piedmont, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 69-17 victory against Capitol Hill on the 7th.
