Softball Recap: Kapolei Comes Up Short in High-Profile Game with Mililani

Kapolei faced Mililani in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Hurricanes took a 7-3 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Trojans. The Hurricanes haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Kendalyn Cordeiro-Felise was cooking despite her team's loss, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base. Jashia-Lee Hernando also deserves some recognition as she brought in her first RBI of the season.

Kapolei's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Mililani, their win was their tenth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 7-1-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Kapolei will square off against Campbell at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Hurricanes will need to watch out since the Sabers have now posted at least ten runs in their last five matchups. As for Mililani, they will take on Leilehua at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday.
