Basketball Recap: Center Place Comes Up Short

Center Place was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were three points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 27-24 heartbreaker at the hands of the El Dorado Christian Buffalos. The Golden Eagles were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Buffalos earlier this season, when they won 47-40.

When it comes to explaining why Center Place lost, don't look at Heidi Lidberg. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 12 points and ten rebounds.

McKenzie Cole continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for El Dorado Christian, dropping a double-double with 13 points and 12 boards. Cole has been hot recently, having also posted two or more blocks the last four times she's played. Another player making a difference was Ashlynn Judd, who posted four points and six rebounds.

Center Place's defeat dropped their record down to 8-7. As for El Dorado Christian, the victory got them back to even at 12-12.

Coming up, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when the Golden Eagles take on the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Westwood Baptist Academy's defense has only allowed 29.3 points per game this season, so Center Place's offense will have their work cut out for them. El Dorado Christian does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
