Volleyball Recap: Antonian Prep Takes a Loss

Antonian Prep was the 2-0 winner over Pieper when they last played one another back in August of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Apaches fell just short of the Warriors by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Abby Ibarra paced Antonian Prep's offense, picking up nine kills. Ibarra got some help from Anais Ibarra and her 18 assists. Jordyn Daniels controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Pieper found their leader in sophomore KK Alarid, who had 15 digs. Those 15 digs set a new season-high mark for Alarid. Emery Gingrich also deserves some recognition as she had her first block of the season.

Antonian Prep's loss dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Pieper, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 8-2.

Antonian Prep didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 victory against Fort Bend Austin on the 21st. As for Pieper, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 3-2 defeat against Canyon on the 19th.
