West Chicago had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Friday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Wheaton-Warrenville South Tigers a 1-0 shutout. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Wildcats have posted since May 17, 2024.

West Chicago's win was truly a team effort as two different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Brielle Borner, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one RBI.

West Chicago pushed their record up to 7-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Wheaton-Warrenville South, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 6-2.
