Soccer Recap: Highland Tech Comes Up Short

After some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three games, Highland Tech finally came back down to earth on Thursday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Shelby Golden Lions. The shutout was out of character for Highland Tech seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in February.

With the loss, Highland Tech broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 11-5. As for Shelby, they pushed their record up to 15-0 with the win, which was their ninth straight at home.

Looking ahead, Highland Tech will take on East Gaston at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. East Gaston will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Highland Tech surely won't give up without a fight. As for Shelby, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Burns at 6:00 p.m. on the 22nd.
