Shaw hasn't had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They simply couldn't be stopped on Saturday as they easily beat the Jordan Red Jackets 56-23. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Raiders just coasted through the last quarter.
Shaw's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quishyi Walcott, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and ten steals. Walcott is becoming a predictor of Shaw's success: when she posts at least five steals the team is 6-3 (and 3-13 when she doesn't). Another player making a difference was Brooke Shipp, who went 6 for 15 en route to 18 points and four steals.
Shaw smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive boards they've posted since back in December of 2024.
Shaw's win bumped their record up to 9-16. As for Jordan, their defeat was their fifth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-18.
Looking ahead, Shaw will be playing at home against Kendrick at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Shaw is facing Kendrick at the right time seeing as Kendrick is stuck on a 22-game losing streak. Jordan does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
