Basketball Recap: Five Straight Road Wins for Casey-Westfield

Casey-Westfield had won four straight road games dating back to last season and Leighton Jones did his part to make it five on Tuesday. The Warriors secured a 44-39 W over the Cumberland Pirates thanks in part to Jones, who shot 60% from the field on his way to 20 points. His evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 20 points.

When it comes to explaining why Cumberland lost, don't look at Reed Miller. Despite the final result, he went 5-for-6 en route to 11 points and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Zack Harmon, who posted four points and eight rebounds.

Casey-Westfield's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Cumberland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-2.

Looking ahead, Casey-Westfield will challenge Robinson at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The Warriors are facing the Maroons at the right time seeing as the Maroons are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Cumberland, they will take on Neoga at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. The Pirates will be up against the Indians' rather soft defense (which has allowed 59.5 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
