Basketball Recap: Jalen Harper Key Part of a Team Effort in Cardinals Win

Newman AAA lost to Non Varsity Opponent last Saturday, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Sunday. The Newman AAA Cardinals took down Non Varsity Opponent 75-56.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Newman AAA to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jalen Harper, who went 7 of 12 on his way to 18 points and five boards. Lucas Morillo was another key player, dropping a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds.

Newman AAA smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in seven consecutive matches.

Newman AAA's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 19-7.

Newman AAA will be playing at home against Non Varsity Opponent at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Non Varsity Opponent, they won't have much time to rest: their next game is against New Life Christian Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
