Basketball Recap: Austin College and Career Academy Takes a Loss

Austin College and Career Academy was the 70-38 winner over Raby when they last played one another back in January, but their luck changed this time around. The Austin College and Career Academy Tigers took a 65-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Raby Raiders on Tuesday. Even if the Tigers couldn't come away with the victory, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their offense, which had struggled int the games prior.

Raby's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylen Walker, who posted 25 points. The game was Walker's seventh in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Jalijah Sample, who earned 21 points.

Austin College and Career Academy is on a four-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Raby, their victory was their first in the conference, bumping their conference record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 3-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Austin College and Career Academy will host Wells at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Raby, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Jones at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
