Basketball Game Preview: Crestwood Red Devils vs. Chagrin Falls Tigers

The Crestwood Red Devils will take on the Chagrin Falls Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Crestwood will be strutting in after a victory while Chagrin Falls will be coming in after a loss.

Crestwood took a loss when they played away from home last Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Monday. They blew past Jefferson Area 46-8. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 27-5.

Crestwood's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Livia Martini, who posted eight points in addition to eight steals and four blocks. Those four blocks gave Martini a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ava Macik, who scored 11 points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Chagrin Falls' game on Wednesday was all tied up 18-18 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They took a 36-29 hit to the loss column at the hands of Kenston. While the Tigers didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Bombers 14-9 in the first quarter.

Chagrin Falls' defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Crestwood, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Crestwood didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Chagrin Falls in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 56-52 victory.
