Football Recap: Texas Wind Piles Up the Points Against Centex Homeschool

Texas Wind extended their winning streak to five on Friday, bumping them up to 5-0. They blew past the CenTex HomeSchool Chargers 76-26. Texas Wind's offense stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most points they've scored all season.

Rhys Bonow produced another solid performance throwing for 280 yards and seven TDs. Those seven passing touchdowns gave him a new career-high. Zane Walker did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 143 receiving yards.

Texas Wind didn't let much get past them through the air: they limited CenTex HomeSchool to a completion percentage of just 45.5%. The team can thank Walker for the heroic effort on defense: he. Texas Wind hasn't an opponent to post a completion percentage of 0.59 or higher in three consecutive games.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Texas Wind, racking up 14 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Jon Alexander, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.

As for CenTex HomeSchool, they suffered their first home defeat, dropping their record down to 3-2. The contest marked their lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Loss or not, CenTex HomeSchool got some senior leadership from Scott Dosa and Jadin Arrington. Dosa rushed for 130 yards and a pair of scores, while Arrington rushed for 104 yards and one touchdown. Arrington's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 104 rushing yards.

Looking ahead, Texas Wind will welcome Blum at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Texas Wind will be up against the Bobcats' rather soft defense (which has allowed 48.2 points per game), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for CenTex HomeSchool, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Williamson County HomeSchool at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
