Volleyball Recap: Collegiate Spartans vs. Kingman Eagles
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Collegiate had no problem doing just that on Monday. They walked away with a 2-0 victory over the Kingman Eagles. The win was some much needed relief for the Spartans as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Collegiate never let Kingman on the board, but things got pretty close in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-21.
Carlyle Johnson paced Collegiate's offense, picking up nine kills. Johnson got some help from
Maddie Ternes and her ten assists. Ternes also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with
Macy Beran, racking up two apiece.
Collegiate's victory bumped their record up to 14-20. As for Kingman, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 13-25.
As of now, neither Collegiate nor Kingman have any future games scheduled.
