Regis Jesuit has gone 8-1 against Castle View recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Sabercats at 4:15 p.m. The last five games Regis Jesuit has played have been within two runs, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
Regis Jesuit is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Colorado's top teams: Ponderosa, who was ranked 25th at the time (Regis Jesuit was ranked third). The Raiders narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Mustangs 8-6. The Raiders haven't had any issues with the Mustangs recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

04/14/25 @ Mountain Vista | 1 |
Alexander Denny looked comfortable as he pitched 3.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Regis Jesuit let Isak Stevenson and Christian Lopez run wild. Stevenson got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two doubles and two RBI, while Lopez went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs. Those two doubles gave Stevenson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nick Wiley, who went 2-for-5 with two RBI.
Regis Jesuit kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ponderosa only managed six hits.
Meanwhile, Castle View hadn't done well against Rock Canyon recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. The Sabercats had just enough and edged out the Jaguars 5-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Sabercats have posted since March 18th.
Castle View also got a great performance from Ethan Scott as he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 12 over 6.2 innings pitched.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Derek Gordon, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Samuel Harry was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run.
Castle View has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups. That lines up perfectly with their 15-5 record this season. As for Regis Jesuit, their record is now 13-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Friday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Regis Jesuit has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 7.4 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Castle View struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.2 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Regis Jesuit skirted past Castle View 4-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Raiders since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
