Soccer Game Preview: Clinton vs. St. Mary Catholic Central

The Clinton Redwolves are taking a road trip to face off against the St. Mary Catholic Central Falcons/Kestrels at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

On Wednesday, Clinton didn't have quite enough to beat Ida and fell 3-2. The loss was Clinton's first of the season.

Meanwhile, St. Mary Catholic Central was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight defeat. They came up short against Trenton, falling 4-1. Having soared to a lofty six goals in the game before, St. Mary Catholic Central couldn't push the score so high this time.

St. Mary Catholic Central's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Clinton, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 15-1-3.

Clinton took their win against St. Mary Catholic Central in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 5-1 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Redwolves since the squad won't have the home-pitch advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
