Baseball Recap: Central Hardin Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Central Hardin, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Monday. They walked away with an 8-3 win over the Green County Dragons on Tuesday. The victory continues a trend for the Bruins in their matchups with the Dragons: they've now won six in a row.

Jordan Bailey looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He is becoming a predictor of Central Hardin's success: when he allows at most one hit the team is 2-1 (and 10-14 when he doesn't).

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Devin Hubbard, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one stolen base. He has become a key player for Central Hardin: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 9-15 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Kellen Brandenburg, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double.

Central Hardin's win bumped their record up to 12-15. As for Green County, they moved to 13-7 with that loss, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Central Hardin and Green County could both be facing uphill battles in their next games considering their disadvantage in the MaxPreps Kentucky Rankings. The Bruins (ranked 92nd) will meet South Warren (ranked eighth) at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Green County will square off against Taylor County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday with a big rank disadvantage (93 vs. 13).
