Baseball Recap: Schenck Comes Up Short

If Schenck was riding high fresh off their 17-1 takedown of Penquis Valley on Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Wolverines fell 7-3 to the Bangor Christian Patriots on Friday. The Wolverines have struggled against the Patriots recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Trevor Vandine was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Schenck's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Bangor Christian, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-2 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Schenck will take on Penquis Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Patriots have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 14.54 runs per game on average), something the Wolverines will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Bangor Christian, they will challenge Sumner at 4:30 p.m. on Monday.
