Volleyball Game Preview: Cathedral Catholic Dons vs. La Jolla Country Day Torreys + Official Tickets

After both having extra time off, the Cathedral Catholic Dons and the La Jolla Country Day Torreys will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Cathedral Catholic is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.

Cathedral Catholic is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Westview.

The win didn't come easy: Westview scored at least 18 points in every set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-18, 25-20, 23-25, 25-19.

Cathedral Catholic's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Sierra Aswad led the charge by getting five digs and four aces. Those four aces gave Aswad a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Samantha Saba, who had five digs and two aces.

Meanwhile, La Jolla Country Day got the win against San Marcos on Wednesday by a conclusive 3-0.

While La Jolla Country Day might've won, it sure wasn't easy: San Marcos scored at least 20 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 26-24, 25-20.

La Jolla Country Day's victory bumped their record up to 26-9. As for Cathedral Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 27-7.

Cathedral Catholic took their victory against La Jolla Country Day when the teams last played back in November of 2019 by a conclusive 3-0 score. Do the Dons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Torreys turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
