Soccer Game Preview: Point Loma vs. Cathedral Catholic

The Point Loma Pointers are taking a road trip to take on the Cathedral Catholic Dons at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Point Loma's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for five straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Point Loma is likely headed into the contest with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Scripps Ranch on Friday. The Pointers came up short against the Falcons, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, Point Loma can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 441st, while Scripps Ranch are ranked 171st).

Meanwhile, Cathedral Catholic kept a clean sheet against Classical Academy on Monday. They came out on top against the Caimans by a score of 2-0.

The defeat was their first on the road, dropping their record down to 1-5-6. As for Cathedral Catholic, their record is now 7-5-2.
