Softball Recap: Waldron Comes Up Short

Waldron extended their losing streak to six on Thursday, dropping them down to 5-7. They lost 20-2 to the North Decatur Chargers. If the Mohawks were looking for revenge after losing 27-9 to the Chargers when the teams met back in May of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for North Decatur, their record now sits at 10-7. The result was nothing new for the Chargers, who have now won six matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

For North Decatur's part, Brooklyn White made a splash no matter where she played. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out eight over four innings pitched. That's the most strikeouts White has posted since back in April. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple.

In other batting news, Madison Rohls was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four runs, and three RBI. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Haylee Schoettmer, who went 1-for-2 with three runs, three RBI, and one triple.

While Waldron had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
