Baseball Recap: Lincoln County Turns Things Around After Road Loss

There's no place like home for Lincoln County, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Rockcastle County Rockets by a score of 6-3 on Thursday. This was payback for the Patriots, who suffered a 5-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Caleb Carrier spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on five hits and racked up six Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Sawyer Robbins, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run. Trevor Vest was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

Lincoln County's record is now 12-19. As for Rockcastle County, their loss dropped their record down to 9-14.

Looking ahead, Lincoln County will be playing in front of their home fans against Madison Southern at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Rockcastle County, they are taking a road trip to face off against East Jessamine at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The Jaguars' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Rockets' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
