Soccer Recap: Cardinal Newman Starts Season with Loss at Home

Cardinal Newman unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-pitch advantage in their season opener. They came up short against the River Bluff Gators on Tuesday, falling 4-0. The loss continues a trend for the Cardinals in their meetings with the Gators: they've now lost four in a row.

The win was the third in a row for River Bluff, bringing their record for this year to 3-1.

Coming up, Cardinal Newman will welcome A.C. Flora at 7:00 p.m. on March 12th. As for River Bluff, they will head out to take on Providence at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. River Bluff will be up against Providence's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.75 goals per match), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance.
