Damon Taylor Tops All Others This Week

Starting off the list is Kimberly's Damon Taylor, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Taylor rushed for 158 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. The effort marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023. His rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his fourth straight game with at least 100 rushing yards dating back to last season.

For the year, Taylor has run in 4 touchdowns while averaging 114.8 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he was only averaging 59.83 rushing yards per game.

Gabe Finley and Co. Win Third in a Row

Gabe Finley was instrumental in extending Buhl's winning streak to three on Friday. Finley's rushing production has been exceptional recently as that marked his third straight game with at least 114 rushing yards dating back to last season.

Buhl's victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 5-1. Finley and Buhl will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kimberly at 7:00 p.m. on October 18th.

Macraye Bruning's Big Game Leads Kimberly over Filer

The second Kimberly player making an appearance here is Macraye Bruning, and for good reason. He threw for 228 yards and four touchdowns on only 19 passes.

On the year, Bruning has thrown 13 touchdowns while averaging 171 passing yards per game. It gets even more impressive: after six games last season, he was only averaging 0.67 rushing yards per game. This year he is averaging 23.5 rushing yards.

Felipe Villegas Makes It Two for Buhl

Another Buhl player making an appearance on this list is Felipe Villegas. He rushed for 66 yards and two touchdowns on only five carries.

A Season-Best Effort from Joe Barrett Leads Kimberly over Filer

Kimberly was led to victory by Joe Barrett, who turned in his biggest game of the season on Friday. Barrett picked up 94 receiving yards and two touchdowns. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 64 yards.

This year, Barrett has caught 5 touchdowns while averaging 51.5 receiving yards per game.
