Basketball Recap: Armwood Comes Up Short

Armwood played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They lost 66-46 to the Newsome Wolves. The Hawks were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Wolves apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January of 2024.

Despite the loss, Armwood still got an impressive performance from Jayden Dryden, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Dryden a new career-high in blocks (eight). Henry Morgan was another key player, going 5 for 9 en route to 13 points.

Even though they lost, Armwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in eight consecutive games.

Armwood's loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 11-8. As for Newsome, they pushed their record up to 19-1 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Armwood wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 61-51 win against Steinbrenner on the 21st. As for Newsome, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-46 victory against Leto on the 21st.
