Softball Game Preview: Traverse City West Titans vs. Alpena Wildcats

For the first time this season, Traverse City West will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will be playing in front of their home fans against the Alpena Wildcats at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this contest.

Traverse City West lost 16-6 to Elk Rapids on Wednesday. The Titans haven't had much luck with the Elks recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Sydney Fleming made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Meanwhile, it was a proper cat-fight when Alpena challenged DeWitt last Saturday. The Wildcats took an 8-5 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Panthers.

Alpena's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Traverse City West, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.

Traverse City West beat Alpena 9-4 in their previous matchup back in May of 2023. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
