Recap: Thurston Colts vs. Willamette Wolverines
The Thurston Colts had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 36 points), and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They blew past Willamette 63-6 on the road. The result was nothing new for Thurston, who have now won six contests by 20 points or more so far this season.
Noah Blair continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, throwing for 253 yards and five touchdowns while completing 93.3% of his passes. Blair is on a roll when it comes to passing touchdowns, as he's now passed for three or more in the last six games he's played. Walker Bonar was another key contributor, picking up 125 receiving yards and three touchdowns.
Thurston's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-2. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 40 points. As for Willamette, they still haven't won a game yet this season and fell to 0-8.
Thurston will head out on the road to face off against Churchill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Willamette, they will be playing in front of their home fans against North Eugene at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Oregon (North Eugene is ranked 113th, while Willamette is ranked 133rd).
