Baseball Game Preview: Burney Raiders vs. Los Molinos Bulldogs

Burney is 1-9 against Los Molinos since May of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Raiders will host the Bulldogs at 4:00 p.m. Burney has given up an average of 10.6 runs per game this season, but Tuesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Burney is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Friday. They came up short against Plumas Charter, falling 18-0. Having soared to a lofty 11 runs in the game before, the Raiders' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Meanwhile, Los Molinos had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.4 runs) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They never let the Lions get on the board and left with a 5-0 victory.

Redding Christian's batters probably weren't too happy with Izick Nelson, who pitched a no hitter (he gave up six walks). Nelson has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Los Molinos let Wyatt Gillett and Harrison Hamre run wild. Gillett scored a run while going 1-for-2, while Hamre scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Los Molinos' win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-3. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.3 runs on average over those games. As for Burney, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.
