Preview: North Cross Raiders vs. Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks
North Cross is 0-9 against Miller School of Albemarle since January of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The North Cross Raiders will head out on the road to square off against the Miller School of Albemarle Mavericks at 5:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
North Cross won a close one the last time they played, but unfortunately they suffered a serious change of fortune on Thursday. They took a serious blow against Roanoke Catholic, falling 74-40.
Meanwhile, Miller School of Albemarle had to suffer through a rough 51-17 loss at the hands of Steward. While losing is never fun, Miller School of Albemarle can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 211th, while Steward is ranked 50th).
North Cross' loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-13. As for Miller School of Albemarle, they have not been sharp recently as the team has lost five of their last six matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season.
North Cross took a serious blow against Miller School of Albemarle when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 62-12. That game was all but decided by halftime, at which point North Cross was down 39-2.
