Soccer Game Preview: Mingus vs. Agua Fria

The Mingus Marauders and the Agua Fria Owls will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Mingus has five straight wins, Agua Fria has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

On Monday, everything went Mingus' way against Goldwater as Mingus made off with a 7-1 victory. Fans of the Marauders have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

They hit Goldwater with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Sophie Walter (5), Jaslyn Lopez, and Ashlynn Cooper.

Meanwhile, Agua Fria fell victim to Independence and their airtight defense on Monday. They might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting the Patriots an easy 9-0 win.

Mingus pushed their record up to 5-0 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. As for Agua Fria, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.
