Basketball Recap: DeSmet Comes Up Short

After flying high against Elkton/Lake Benton last Thursday, DeSmet came back down to earth. The DeSmet Bulldogs came up short against the Flandreau Fliers on Tuesday, falling 64-41. The Bulldogs have struggled against the Fliers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

DeSmet's defeat dropped their record down to 12-7. As for Flandreau, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season.

DeSmet and Flandreau should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps South Dakota Rankings. DeSmet will take on Oldham-Ramona/R at 7:30 p.m. on Friday up 98 places (46 vs. 144). Meanwhile, Flandreau (ranked 29th) will meet Baltic (ranked 104th) at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
