Baseball Recap: Bruton Takes a Loss

Bruton was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 5-1 to the Poquoson Islanders. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Islanders this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 back in April.

Bruton's loss dropped their record down to 4-16. As for Poquoson, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 10-6.

Coming up, Bruton will welcome Lafayette at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Poquoson, they have already played their next match, a 2-0 defeat against New Kent on the 22nd.
