Baseball Game Preview: Newport - Bellevue Knights vs. Issaquah Eagles

Newport - Bellevue hasn't had much luck against Issaquah recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. Newport - Bellevue will head out on the road to take on Issaquah at 4:30 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

On Monday, Newport - Bellevue came up short against Skyline and fell 4-1. The Knights have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Newport - Bellevue got a good showing from Brooks Kapfhammer, who tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Kapfhammer has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.

Meanwhile, Issaquah suffered their closest loss since March 25, 2024 on Monday. They fell just short of North Creek by a score of 6-4. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Hudson Carvalho was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring a run while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That run marked the first that he scored this season.

Newport - Bellevue's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4-1. As for Issaquah, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
