Basketball Recap: Cook Comes Up Short

Cook lost against Appling County two weeks ago and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cook Hornets came up short against the Appling County Pirates, falling 75-49.

Appling County was led to victory by Perri Mitchell and Shamiah Barnum. Mitchell dropped a double-double on 14 points and 15 rebounds, while Barnum posted 23 points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Barnum a new career-high in points. Another player making a difference was Keniyah White, who earned 15 points.

Cook's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for Appling County, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
