Basketball Recap: DNA Prep Academy Find Success

On Saturday, the DNA Prep Academy Nobles beat the West Oaks Academy Flame 80-72.

West Oaks Academy's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Marcis Ponder, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. Those 22 points gave Ponder a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Willie Burnett III, who posted 16 points and six boards.

The win got DNA Prep Academy back to even at 2-2. As for West Oaks Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-9.

DNA Prep Academy does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Oaks Academy, they will welcome The Rock National at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. West Oaks Academy knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past nine games -- so hopefully The Rock National likes a good challenge.
