Volleyball Recap: Little Chute Takes a Loss

Little Chute extended their losing streak to four on Saturday, dropping them down to 12-13. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Seymour Thunder. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunder this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in September.

Little Chute's offense was headlined by Samaya Acala and Ashley Graf, who picked up six kills apiece. They got some help from Leah Vanden Hogen and her 16 assists. She was also solid from the service line: she led the team with five aces.

As for Seymour, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 16-14 record this season. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since September 2nd.

Seymour found their leader in sophomore Emma John, who had 12 aces and nine digs. Those 12 aces set a new season-high mark for John.

Little Chute wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Green Bay Southwest on the 11th. As for Seymour, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-1 defeat against De Pere on the 11th.
