Softball Recap: Jennings' Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Jennings waltzed into their match on Wednesday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the DeQuincy Tigers. That's more bragging rights for the Bulldogs, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Jenna Morvant spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and one unearned) runs on six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Madeleine Person and Kylie Price did most of the damage at the plate: Person scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Price scored a run while going 1-for-3. That stolen base was Person's first of the season. Another player making a difference was Ava Gary, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in both of her plate appearances.

Jennings' record is now 6-2. As for DeQuincy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-8 record this season.

Jennings will take on Merryville in a tournament on Friday. As for DeQuincy, they will host Rosepine at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
